This page lists what USA Sky PDF stores in your browser, why, and how to control it. We try to be specific — generic “we use cookies for various purposes” language is not useful to anyone.

What are cookies and similar storage?

Browsers can store small pieces of data on your device using cookies, sessionStorage, and localStorage. Some of this storage is essential for a site to work at all (for example to remember that you are signed in across page loads). Other storage is used for analytics, advertising, or personalisation. This page covers everything USA Sky PDF stores, not just cookies in the strict sense.

What USA Sky PDF actually uses

Essential — always on

These are required for the site to function. You cannot opt out, but you can clear them by clearing your browser storage.

  • sessionStorage astrasky:pending-tool — set when you click a tool card on the homepage and cleared when the editor mounts. It tells the editor which tool to open after the page navigates. Cleared automatically; lifetime is a single page navigation.
  • localStorage astrasky:cookie-consent — records your choice from the cookie-preferences banner. Lifetime is until you clear browser data or change the setting. Values are essential or all.
  • localStorage astrasky:lang — records the UI language you picked from the globe icon. Lifetime is until you clear it.
  • Cloudflare security cookies — for example __cf_bm and cf_clearance — set by Cloudflare in front of our service to block bots and abuse. Short-lived (typically 30 minutes for __cf_bm). Strictly necessary under EU rules (Recital 66 of the ePrivacy Directive). See Cloudflare’s cookie policy for details.
  • Stripe cookies — only on payment pages — Stripe sets cookies for fraud prevention when you reach a checkout page. We do not set them anywhere else on the site. See Stripe’s cookie policy.

Analytics — cookieless

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — page-view counts and approximate region. This product is cookieless by design: it does not set cookies, does not track you across other sites, does not build a user profile, and does not share data with third parties. Cloudflare publishes the technical details at cloudflare.com/web-analytics.

Advertising measurement — only with your consent

We do not have a Facebook Pixel, a TikTok pixel, or any cross-site tracking network, and we do not sell your data to anyone. The one optional item is Google's conversion-measurement tag (gtag.js), which loads only if you choose “I Accept” in the cookie banner:

  • Google gtag.js cookies — set by Google to count ad conversions (for example, a completed sign-up after an ad click). Never set if you choose Essential Only; you can withdraw consent any time from the “Cookie preferences” pill. See Google's cookie policy.
  • localStorage astrasky:ads-signup-fired — written by us (only after consent) so the sign-up conversion is counted at most once per browser. Lifetime is until you clear browser data.

How to control storage

You have three levels of control:

  1. Our “Cookie preferences” button — the small pill anchored bottom-right of every page lets you re-open the cookie-preferences banner at any time.
  2. Your browser settings — every modern browser lets you block, clear, or selectively delete cookies and storage. Most also offer a “private” or “incognito” window that clears everything on close.
  3. Clear site data — open your browser’s site-settings panel for usapdfsky.com and choose “Clear data.” This removes everything listed above. Your account itself is unaffected — only the per-browser storage is removed.

Blocking the essential items above will break parts of the site (for example you will not be able to sign in or remain signed in across pages). Blocking the cookieless analytics is not possible because it does not use cookies — if you want to opt out, the cleanest option is to use a browser extension that blocks the Cloudflare Insights beacon, such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger.

Changes

If we add a new cookie or storage item, this page is updated before the new item ships. If we ever introduce non-essential measurement tools, we will request consent through the cookie-preferences banner before turning them on — where the law of your country requires consent, and as a default elsewhere.
